Grew up in remote Grand Junction, Colorado. After 18 years of tranquility, found myself at college in Southern California (known then as Claremont Men's College). The experience was so traumatic that, upon graduation, the most reasonable thing seemed to be to move to New York City.
Since then I've told people I was born in New York City -- when I was 22.
I found my first job in the information business, and have been in that business ever since. Three books: Data Model Patterns: Conventions of Thought (1995); Requirements Analysis: From Business Views to Architecture (2003); Data Model Patterns: A Metadata Map (2006).
